Your Shadows Have Much to Teach



Everything is sacred. I found God in the darkness of my shadows as well as in my light. The darkness in life holds the contrast to light. You can witness the shadow of the tree in the picture because of the light shining behind me.


We live in a world of duality. We cannot have one without the other. The gems hidden in the darkness held a twinkling of the light. I have to excavate the shadows in my life to find the gems buried in the darkness in order to heal. No matter how low things get, there is always a glimmer of light somewhere deep within when I remember to turn on the light of my own awareness. Shift happens.


The solar eclipse is happening today and it is a turning off of the lights. We cannot hide from the darkness. It is helpful and healing to not repress or push aside uncomfortable feelings that hide. Experiences in life will trigger us. You have a choice to show up for your own healing and breathe love into the shadows of those triggering moments...breathe love into your fears. Shift happens.


It is an invitation to choose a different perspective and begin to let go of old patterns that no longer serve. It is a call to action to begin to deal with your issues in a new way. Honor the mistakes you have made and apologize when you were wrong. When things trigger an emotional reaction in us we become out of balance. Whether it is one of fear, anger, resentment, or jealousy. We become out of alignment with our soul and who we really are. We are made of love. Experiences that trigger us are reflections of our inner world that need to be healed. They will keep rising up until we honor their teachings.


When you begin to feel uncomfortable or uneasy, there is a gem in the shadow ready to be heard and healed. A lesson waiting for your gentle attention and ever expanding awareness. Something for you to look at with new eyes. An opportunity in disguise for healing your life in a new way.


Pause. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply and powerfully into your life force and into your heart and ask yourself...What is this sensation I am feeling? What is this constriction I feel somewhere in my body? Is this something new? Is it old? Can I release it, forgive it, and let go of it once and for all?


Honor the messages of your body and take the time to listen to the wisdom of your body and your heart. They are messengers here to show you the way to more joy and more freedom in your life. Move closer to your inner-self, day by day and moment by moment. With patience, self-compassion, and self-love, what triggers us can be softened when given a voice. Allow the subtle shifts to happen.


Go for a walk in nature. Give yourself the space and time to respond differently to the things, people, and relationships that trigger old patterns of response that you no longer want in your life. You will be able to move closer to the authentic loving self of your soul. Patience, time, attention, and lots of love help to move closer to the deeper parts of you and you can begin to slowly heal.


Become aligned with your soul. Expand your consciousness and choose love over fear and expand who you are from your soul's perspective. When you die you cannot take anything with you except for the love you created in this lifetime. That love will merge with the love you came from, the love over the many past lifetimes you experienced, and expand exponentially into the Oneness that is beyond this life on schoolroom earth.
