Don't Take On The Locals was the message that flooded into my mind when I stopped to snap a picture of this incredible mountain goat. He climbed easily down a very steep path and onto the road in front of our car. He sauntered in front of our car as he crossed the road and stopped near the edge of a cliff and stared back at us. I didn't take on the locals per se, but I certainly gleaned some unforgettable insight from this experience. I didn't get too close and just watched in amazement as the goat went about his travels with ease and grace.
His steady gaze, sure-footedness, unwavering strength and an incredible agility to leap with faith at the edge of a cliff high up in the Rocky Mountains...left me speechless and in awe. Raw power and faith emanated from this magnificent creature as he stared intently into my eyes. He was showing me a new way to be in my own life. Be who yourself. Everyone else is taken.
The paved road up to the top of Mt. Evans in Colorado is a steep, winding and narrow road with many switchbacks. The ride to the top was scary at times and we thought about turning around on more than one occasion. How many times in our lives do we stop moving forward because of fear? The routes we travel are scary at times, but when we have faith we can move with ease and grace not unlike the mountain goat. I am so glad that we did not stop because seeing these incredible mountain goats everywhere was the unknown gift waiting at the top. The incredible view was also quite breathtaking. Let go of fear and have faith in the unknown.
I love seeing animals in their natural habitat. They are such great messengers and teachers for humanity and invite us to be who we are meant to be. Be like the mountain goat and stand in your own power and live the life you were meant to live. Breathe deeply, find your footing, stand in your truth and take that leap of faith. When you follow your dreams and trust your soul's guidance you can not fail.
