"I return to the quiet that remembers me." The quiet does not ask for the moment to be different than what it is...it simply meets it as it is. There is freedom in the words that reality is what it is and it does not have to be different.

Letting go of the inner demand that life and people should obey my expectations. What we call darkness may simply be light before revelation. I choose love over fear every time.

I do not have to fight the present moment. Illumination will gather in my heart when I become quiet, still, and breathe.

I allow my eyes to soften and feel the subtle warmth in my chest gathering light. Where my silence meets my becoming. For this moment, I am simply here.

I do not need to understand the light within, I just simply melt into it and bask. I trust the light is already there and I have been carrying it all along. Remember. Remember. Remember.

Rosie is my constant companion. She is my meditation companion waiting on my meditation rock. This rock is her favorite seat in the forest naturally placed for her/our arrival. Like mama oak, waiting with an open invitation any time we saunter by and are drawn into their sacred essence.

She does not need to chant the ancient mantras I chant, but she rests in the vibration of the sounds. She simply stays and holds sacred space and is always my loving witness to my practice. Vibration precedes thought and feeling.

You don't always have to do

anything.

Sometimes love simply

waits beside you in stillness.

The trees are breathing with us. The giant rock holds us both in grounded awareness. And we return to the quiet that remembers that meditation and writing are like breathing for me.

Writing is not separate from my living - it is a way of breathing my inner world into form and poured out onto the page. Oftentimes, the words arrive without explanation, like a breath itself: automatic, natural, necessary, and they already know the way. I just need to get out of the way.

Meditation is about getting quiet enough to hear what has been within me all along.

Inhale.

Listen.

Exhale.

Write.

One moment.

One breath.

One word

at a time.

I am grateful to all who have walked beside me on this journey, not directing the journey, but helping me notice when the light has landed just right on the page.

"I return to the quiet that remembers me."
